Check out ‘April Love’ from 1957. Sounds like you’ll be into it.

it’s totally hit or miss.
if you like cheesy action movies and that equally cheesy 2000s industrial metro feeling, go ahead.
it’s definitely not the masterpiece many people claim, but it’s fun, and an iconic staple of 2000s cinema.
as to its relation to french film? there’s a french guy in it, i guess, that’s as close as it’ll get.

if you like superhero movies you probably will enjoy the matrix! it's not really a superhero movie but it has a lot of the traits that superhero movies have. definitely give it a chance, it's one of those films that's popular for a reason.
i guess i like keanu reeves so that will be a bonus point .

The matrix is a classic. I've watched it and i really liked it. However, I think the reason why I liked it is cuz I always like sci-fi stuff. The movie has a bunch of nonsensical and tech stuff. It's pretty cool imo, but if you don't like that kind of stuff, then idk...
