In the age of YT Premium and extensive ad campaigns comes more and more incentives to spend your money on it to avoid advertisements and allow yourself to "legally download" the videos you love, right? No, avoid spending your money when there ARE better alternatives to those services.
UBlock Origin and YT-DLP (or if you don't trust cmd line programs, CNVmp3) can solve these problems.
As I see fit, I refuse to pay Google for YT Premium for 14$ a month to have no ads when I can just cut out the middle-man with uBlockOrigin. It isn't justifiable to even use YT Premium for the download videos feature when you can use CNVmp3 which allows you to download YT videos for free and locally onto your computer or cellular device for future viewing.
I tend to download videos to my phone so I can listen to them while working in a Warehouse with little to no reception. Pair this with having the Google Files app, I can just easily switch to another video after it is done without any need to scroll on the YT app to find the next video I want to listen to.
Downloading videos also allows me to archive specific videos should they go down in the future! I have done this a few times, and while those videos haven't been taken down, it is just nice to add them to the Internet Archive where deletion can be absolutely avoided. I find it necessary in a world where there videos like 'Super Mario 64 big star secret' are missing to have these programs on hand.
If any of you who ever come across this post wants to access these programs, just look them up.

Why I Use Ad-Block and YT to MP4 Downloaders
