oohh myyy gooshhh ..

okay so I want to form a band with my friends, but I have ZERO idea where to start, what instrument to play, and what genre it would even be..

me and my friends that want to form the band really like rock music, so maybe that. the only thing is that the only instrument I know is flute.. and that's not really a rock instrument.

i'm gonna give some details but only using initials cause no name doxxing !!

soo my best friend d who's really been the only one sharing the most interest in the band as me plays a lot of instruments. she plays bass, electric, and acoustic guitar, keyboards, and some other thingy but I forgot what it was lolz. she focuses on playing electric and she's going to lessons every week for it. and then there p who plays bass guitar, so that's pretty set. i've been wanting to ask my friend e who plays drums if he wants to join, and then there's also my friend k who plays a lot of instruments too. he plays bass clarinet, french horn. guitar (I think), ukulele, but focuses on keyboard when its not our school orchestra (he plays bass clarinet and french horn for that). 

and then there's me. so confused of what to play. I own a few instruments but I only know the flute well. I own normal and electric violin, a ukulele, and the flute. but my sister has an electric guitar that she doesn't use and my mom said that she'd buy any instrument I wanted because she knows how much this means to me. 

but I keep going back and forth cause if I ask everyone that I just mentioned, that would be five people and I have no clue if that's too many or something. but also k doesn't really listen to rock music, he likes jazz more. so I have no idea.

I could sing, because I've been told before that i've got a nice voice and I'm sure with some practice I could be good. its just that if this ever did go somewhere further than a garage, I'm not so sure how I could handle being lead singer with my anxiety.

that leads us back to the original question; what should I do?
