Pink Eye Yuck - Storytime

My family and I enjoy traveling to Virginia, where we stay in a vacation house for several days at a time. It’s always so much fun and there’s always a lot of exciting activities to do together as a family in the specific area that I am choosing not to disclose. One of my favorite things about the vacation houses in the area is that they all have massive master bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs inside. 

The last time I went on vacation with my family earlier this year, I decided that I wanted to spend time in the jacuzzi tub. My mother was with me on the trip and she warned me that maybe I should clean the jacuzzi tub like everyone else had cleaned there's before using it. My family on the other side of the vacation house usually filled theirs with Clorox, water, and let their jacuzzi run for some time. 

It was my first time using the jacuzzi, I was so excited I didn't think to clean it, and by the time my mother pointed it out to me, it was already too late. I was already soaking, bathing, and enjoying myself. I had prayed for safety, asking God for me to be okay just in case there was anything gross in the jets that would get on me. But guess what? Too bad for me, I woke up the next morning and there was something wrong with my right eye. I sat up in the king sized bed and could feel the crust trying to seal my eyes shut. I could feel something that seemed like wet pus in the corner of my eye and slime over my pupil. I rushed to my bathroom and saw that my eye was completely red and gross. I rushed to show my mom and she started panicking, because pink eye is contagious and the whole family was with us. I had just ruined everyone’s vacation. My mom went and told my uncle, my uncle went and told someone else, etc. I killed the vibe, guys.

My mother started trying to help me find a doctor’s office in the area. However, unfortunately, our vacation home is up in the mountains and the offices around us were either closed at the time or they did not have good enough reviews, and I did not feel comfortable going to those locations. And suddenly that’s when I thought.....Wait a minute.....

What if Lord Jesus could heal me? Why should I waste money at a clinic when I can just pray with faith and hopefully God will heal me like the bible says can happen? I don’t need to go to a doctor! Lord Jesus has healed people over and over again. I will just pray and God will heal me too! I believed in that moment with all my heart and I went into the bathroom, and locked the door behind me. I began praying fervently for God to heal my eye, saying everything that I could think of, because I did not want to ruin my family’s vacation, and after my vacation I would have to return to work soon. I began praying the best that I could, with as much intensity that I could muster up, praying like, “Heavenly Father, please heal my eye, I have pink eye. I don’t need to go to the doctor when you can split seas like men open books in the name of Jesus. I don’t need a doctor when Lord Jesus is The Doctor of Doctors. Please heal me, please help me, please help me, please, help me, please heal me in the name of Jesus, please Lord, save me, save me, help me…..”

And mid-speech, I began to convulse and shake in the bathroom. I began to grunt as the power of God began to rock through my body intensely. I had grabbed my phone and turned my camera on, so that I could record it and be able to witness what was happening later on. I kept shaking, swaying, and convulsing, and after a moment it stopped. I went to the mirror to look at my eye and the majority of the redness had SUDDENLY DISAPPEARED. It was now only a very very light pink, barely there. I ran out of the bathroom and began shouting to my family what had just happened. I could tell that they were sort of receiving what I was saying. They could see the undeniable change, but they weren’t able to fully understand exactly what I was trying to share with them. That God began to heal me in the bathroom immediately after I began praying. That the power of God hit me and I physically felt everything! They could see with their own eyes that my pink eye definitely decreased to an incredible degree and was barely there, but they didn’t fully understand. I thanked God over, and over, and over, and rejoiced, praising Him aloud. I was so incredibly grateful and in awe! I was shouting through the house! God heard me and helped me in REAL TIME!!!

Fast forward to the next morning, I climbed out of my bed again and rushed to the bathroom to look in the mirror, and behold, my eye was COMPLETELY HEALED this time around! No longer a very-light-pink-barely-there color and certainly not red and crusty like from the start. I showed my family and rejoiced again! There was no more crust, no more pus, and the redness was COMEPLETELY GONE!!!! NOTHING! No need for a doctor, no doctors appointment, no cancelled family vacation, no need to quarantine me... just ALMIGHTY LORD JESUS!!! God heard me! Lord Jesus heard me! God helped me! I was in awe and so proud of God and His work. God heard me! He heard me! And He answered!!! The God who parted the red sea, the God who raised Lazarus, the God who turned dust into lice... THAT GOD HEARD ME!!!!!!

This is a very true story that happened earlier this year (2025) and I believe I still have the video of what happened somewhere in my photo album. I have another story about the time God healed my swollen right tonsil that was swollen for about two years. Maybe I will save that dramatic story for a future blog. Gosh, while typing this I just feel like running around the house and shouting. God has been so kind to me, it's ridiculous!
