Online singularity

(this was gonna be a bulletin post but it got pretty long so)

I think the reason that I like SpaceHey so much is that it's not constantly adopting new features in order to copy Every Single Other Website.

For example: my main social media is Tumblr because it's text based, has little to no post algorithm, lets you unlimitedly block post content, it's tags are out of post, and essentially functions as a mini blogging site. But even that keeps changing the way the buttons look and adding random features and algorithms no one asked for, just to be more like Bluesky and whatever other social media is currently popular.

I really don't like that all social medias are trying to become each other. Every site has it's own thing and by changing those things to be more like others in an attempt to appeal to the masses, they keep throwing away the reasons people liked the website to begin with. No one wants five different versions of Twitter, but the CEOs of these companies are too busy going "The people like that one 🫵 there was money there 🫵 I want some 🫵" If website owners actually cared about the things the people using them want, the world would be a better place.

Anyway, this has been my formal request that SpaceHey Stays Like It Is.
