Life update and such, idkkk

Hey guys! Been a while but things have been hecticc over here lol Post grad is a bit of a boring daze because all I'm doing is working and saving money lol. I did get myself a new laptop though so now I can browse SpaceHey in bed lmao. I don't have a desk so I have to use my PC on the floor and it's really uncomfortable, so this has been a nice upgrade. I have been also entertaining myself by working on art stuff and trying to get back into writing essays. I'm trying to adventure a little more now too, so I kind of just go random places across the country with no plan and just wander around. I was in a little coastal town the other day and ended up just kind of drifting around and talking to the locals. It was pretty cool. I've also been working out a lot but because my job is very physical I keep getting tired and missing days of workout here and there arrrgghh. I want to get big mainly because I think it would be vibes, so if you know anything about that kind of thing any advice is welcome tysm :) Not sure why but I've also really been wanting to learn to drive a motorbike lately, but I'm about to go into a new job with better pay so I think I'm just gonna learn to drive a car first cos that's more practical. I've been really fucking with Blasphemous and Halo recently, been playing a fair bit of that in between work. Idk what else to update with but I hope ur all doing well xoxox

Ugh, I feel you. I just graduated from my Masters program this past Spring so we're kind of in the same boat. One one hand it's really cool having free time for art/personal study/whatever else I'm interested in at the moment, but in an odd way it's kind of paralyzing as well?

I'm an artist as well, so I've been drawing quite a bit recently, but I almost feel like I'm wasting time when I'm working on anything that isn't for my portfolio! It can be frustrating, but I guess we just need to make the most of the time we have while not sucking the joy out of it. :)

Good on you for trying new things though! (And new games, I haven't played it yet but Blasphemous looks fucking AWESOME lol) Regardless, rooting for you from across the pond.

Ahhh I totally get you! A big problem for me creatively rn is that I don't have any space cos I had to move back into my terrible childhood home, so most of my work has been relegated to saving money and waiting for a chance to have space to be creative again (which incidentally means more working so I can get more money), but I'm still trying to stay active in my thoughts. Maybe the solution is to create your own academic structure/projects so that you can continue with or without an actual place to study?

I feel like making art has to be a good balance between enjoyment and professional outcome (preferably if you can enjoy making a portfolio that would be the ideal position to be in!) but yeah, massive congrats on still keeping up the drawing + finishing your Masters!!

Thanks so much!! And I hope you're able to find your own place soon. I moved back in with my parents which, in most ways is super helpful for me, but is also mildly creatively stifling because I hate when people watch me work...so any creative time is spent in my room. B,,)

But finding more projects to do is always a good idea! I'm trying to find people to do more game jams, but even small things like Inktober help since it puts you in the position to keep staying creative.
