to people who were tens in these years, people always tell me that it was so cool, that it was easier to make friends,parties were usual thing,everyone was happier, it was safer nd parents werent as protective, subcultures were more normalised than they r today and aesthetics n all that stuff.it was easier to socialise and blah blah blah,cus if it was rlly like that and its not js people romanticising their teen ages (which is valid,dw) then im gonna forever grieve not being born then.

im a Y2K baby and yes being a teenager during this time was very fun, especially 2016.

I'm an 03, so I was in my teen years from mid to late 2010's and I do remember what life was like before that too. I wouldn't say that subcultures were really "normalized", if anything people like emos, goths and nerds were usually the punching bags of society. But I do think that people overall were way more socialized than they are today. I was almost a complete social outcast back then and even I had a plenty of friends I would meet up with multiple times almost every week.
But of course everybody has a different experience of what it was like and this is just how I remember it.
