Conlanging and Things I love about Language

Game of Thrones is one of those shows that truly immerses you into its world. I know it did for me. One of the things that made me fall in love with it, was its way of how communication worked, and the languages that they spoke amongst each other. Dothraki and High Valyrian being so well rounded and worked, they sounded pretty convincingly real especially with how long the use of the languages dialogue was. I thought about how similar they were to real life languages.

Its inspiring honestly. I grew a fondness of language in general, and conlangs became one of them because of how cool it is to develop a useable language from scratch. A lot of people still don't know how languages came to be, even I am still clueless to how we thought up language and how they became to vastly different from each other. (When I fully learn about it, I'll probably blog about it.) Languages are such a core part of us and our culture as people, there is even a culture of people who speak a conlang known as Esperanto. Shockingly, there are native speakers too. That fascinated me. And so, I decided to think up some of my own ideas for a language. I took time to even world build and create maps to fully submit myself to the creative process.

Before I get into languages I've made however, I'd like to talk about another conlang that also interested me. Toki Pona. This language is very small, only ranging from 120-140 words. The language is very contextual, yet it is still very easy to learn due to its small size. I've also had a fascination with this because I thought it was very versatile. Many people speak it, and I hope to be another person who joins in on the fun to learn it.

Okay, to get back on track. I want to create a language that expands and one that everyone could learn. I want to post blogs in it, and hope that other people that see it get excited and want to learn it too. So, I have a few that I would like to share that I have tried to curate, however they are beginner ones so please bear with me.

I would love to see critiques on this, and if you have ideas for a name or new words feel free to leave them below.

I made this conlang after watching dune. I liked the sound of the language, and how it takes inspiration from middle eastern countries. I tried my hand at something like that, but I added my own little spin. Hopefully the explanations are good.

Ahn ani kala!

I would be super interested in keeping up with you if you decide to continue expanding your conlang!

Also I agree, Toki Pona is a super cool conlang! I want to learn how to speak it some day, my plan would be to learn all the vocabulary, since there is less than 200, and then pick up the grammar through reading.
