Everything I say here is just my opinion lol don't go crazy
So, over the past like 4 years (basically since the pandemic) music has really become a smoking pile of shit with a couple diamonds sprinkled in. No really, most songs now are either covers of old songs but the lyrics are replaced with shit like "my ex sucks and I want to kill him" repeated 80 times or just repetitive bullshit.
I mean, excuse my language, but music nowadays fucking sucks most of the time - sure there are good artists still, but it has become so oversaturated.
I especially hate the type of music that just copies an already older famous song but they just add their shitty autotune to it and change the lyrics. It sounds horrid and the lyircs aren't any better: "I just killed my ex" and "fuck my ex" have been used so many times it really just sounds enjoyment-breaking whenever I hear it because it has gone from being sung with genuine feeling and emotion to some weirdass tiktoker who just wants attention screaming their lungs out.
And don't get me started on how OVERRATED this shit is - like how does a shitty remake with more autotune than a highschool band and lyrics that came from a 4th grader become so incredibely popular?

No fr tho. Ava Max is definitely a great example of this, its literally just watered down and processed versions of past hits. Its sad to see how when artists try new things they get lower appreciation compared to other artists who do the same thing over and over again every album like Taylor Swift where there's no actual soul or effort put into the music its just "ok sing about my ex and be mean so it can chart".

First of all wdym by "music nowdays"? Nowdays music is literally millions of different artists in different genres from all over the world. This whole "modern music" stuff just sounds like whining to me.
The "oversaturated" thing is true. But I think it's just a natural consequence of music production being more available (which is a good thing). So imo it's a necessary sacrifice.
And I know that it's kinda obvious, but you don't have to listen to music you don't like. There are so many artists out there, I'm sure that you'll be able to find out something for yourself.
Ps. What's your problem with autotune? I thought everyone had already accepted it.
Pps. Also I've never heard a single song with lyrics about "fuck my ex" and shit. Genuinely have no idea what are you talking about.

none of the music i hear on the radio rlly sounds good anymore (which is part of the reason why i switched 2 just using soundcloud) and it sucks :[ i miss 2000/2010s music there were so many good songs back then

I think that happens because the songs are written just for the 30 seconds they will be played on TikTok or some other short video format app, and while in those 30s the song might actually sound good, the rest of the song is just soso bland :( plus I do really agree on "new songs are remixes of old ones" because it's true. it has happened in the past, but when it happens today it's something done so lazily that it ends up sounding like anxiety by doechii (idk if you spell it like that) no hate to her but that's the truth I fear ;w;
IKR the rewrites of old songs are always so bland. I completely agree, this is just lazy music.
