Those who have read some of my earliest posts (particularly "Dandelion Propaganda") will know that me and big pharma/the medical industry always have beef, lol. I do think modern medicine has its place, and it has obviously saved countless lives and cured a lot of conditions. HOWEVER.... The current medical industry very much revolves around treating the symptoms, not the root cause of the problem, charging insanely unethical amounts for drugs and procedures, sugarcoating (or straightup not informing people about) side effects, and pushing pills to line their pockets.
That being said, when I watched Trump's "autism speech", my initial reaction was "wow, this blithering idiot has no clue what he's talking about." I clicked off of the livestream after he was done speaking, so I didn't watch RFK's comments or any of the rest of it.
Well, come to find out, he (unfortunately) had a fucking point.
Sites like Snopes and "FactCheck.org", which are the first results when googling "Tylenol linked to autism", both claim there is no evidence of Tylenol being linked to autism or any other disorders. Tylenol's website now has a flashy pop-up that comes up immediately upon opening the site, saying there is no credible evidence linking acetaminophen to autism. They also have a new link at the top of their website for people who "have questions about recent media coverage of Tylenol", where they once again reassure you that their products are "proven safe for 50 years".
So why then, I wonder, did Tylenol put out a tweet in 2017 saying "we do not recommend taking any of our products while pregnant"? Tylenol now claim this post was "taken out of context", which, fair enough I guess, it's 8 years old -- but this is far from the only nail in their coffin.
An NIH-funded study by the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality found that acetaminophen exposure during pregnancy is linked with higher risk of ADHD and autism. (Source: https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/nih-funded-study-suggests-acetaminophen-exposure-pregnancy-linked-higher-risk-adhd-autism)
Other studies have found the same (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5044872/), (https://ehjournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12940-025-01208-0), and John Hopkins University also did a study on it. Harvard also did their share of looking into it (https://hsph.harvard.edu/news/using-acetaminophen-during-pregnancy-may-increase-childrens-autism-and-adhd-risk/), and so did Mount Sinai (https://www.mountsinai.org/about/newsroom/2025/mount-sinai-study-supports-evidence-that-prenatal-acetaminophen-use-may-be-linked-to-increased-risk-of-autism-and-adhd).
In the aftermath of Trump's speech, it's become a trend on social media for pregnant women to film themselves taking Tylenol, when they don't need it, to "spite Trump".... That behavior is just disturbing to me -- even if Trump was wrong, even if you hate the guy, why would you want to take that risk just for a quick laugh? If I was pregnant, I would limit it on even the -off chance- that it was true. It seems like these women care more about hating Trump than they care about their babies.
There's already been an increase of women being admitted to ERs due to Tylenol overdoses -- even Demstate, a "progressive" news outlet, reported on it, saying nurses have "noted that the trend appears to be affecting a specific demographic", lol. Of course they won't outright say "dumb liberal women are ODing on Tylenol trying to spite Trump". Once again, they gave zero thought to their own, and subsequently their babies' health. They're so hell-bent on getting one over on the bad orange guy that they're willing to potentially kill themselves and their children.
A lot of ERs also treat Tylenol overdoses as suicide attempts, so they can look forward to a 72-hour psych hold, too -- if they survive, that is. One woman is on a ventilator, dying of liver failure, and her husband is left with the impossible choice of whether to let them attempt an emergency delivery of their 24-week-old baby.
Her husband might lose his entire family because his wife's hate for Trump was greater than her love for them. Let that sink in.

I feel like this is just an example of how stupid politics has become these days. The left and right care too much about "one-upping" eachother rather than fight for their cause sometimes. Im not american and i dont really know what tylenol is i think its a pain killer or something. And i think its stronger than ibruprofen (dunno if i spellt that right) or panadol or whatever. I dont know why these women didnt stop to think about wha they were doing before OD-ing on meds while they have another human being inside of them
I believe in other countries Tylenol is called paracetamol or acetaminophen. And yep, it's all about "getting one over" on the other side regardless of the cost. Just foolishness.

Totally agree. And its so easy to fall into it too. Im left-leaning but deep down i wish all of us could just get along but its so impossible. And im not saying it in a "we should all set aside out differences and hold hands bla bla bla" but i feel like its necessary esp with whats going on in america rn. It kind of needs a revolution right now. And thats not going to happen if the left and right keep fighting over random petty sh*t

i can see your point ! I do not like Trump but even I think that taking a huge risk just for a guy who probably wont see your post or even care is just stupid . . (⇀_⇀)
