I've been noticing that there are some people who call themselves Christians but they don't really seem to reflect any of God's teachings, at least outwardly.
I feel like they call themselves that because they believe it to be a part of the "American dream". They do it for cultural reasons, and might even pride themselves in being Christian. Yet, their actions do not seem to reflect what the Lord wants. Say for example, buying tons of Trump merchandise, or always believing that he'll save the world... almost like they're worshipping him, when the first commandment was to not worship anyone else but God.
Some may want violence against others, or to remove them from the country because of their race, but wasn't it said in the bible to love one another? Love the sinner, not the sin? Share your possessions and food with others? These things seem to be forgotten sometimes because of far-right American conservatist ideas. Fueled by worldly bias, by hate, by evil. Mocking others, making fun of them on Twitter/X, having empathy only if they're on your side. Why do people like and retweet those posts? Why do people keep supporting and encouraging such things?
If not conservatism, they sometimes attempt to justify their actions using the bible. But in reality, those understandings are flawed and often biased. Manipulated to fit their own narrative.
What's even sadder is that these kinds of people are the loudest, hence others don't get to understand how these bad things these people do are actually the opposite of what Christ wishes to teach us. They help contribute to people straying away from the bible.
That's my perspective on some of the Christians in the US... I hope these kinds of people realize that they need to improve and that what they have done is actually harming others.
And if you aren't a follower of Christ but still reading this, just know that violence should never, ever meet you just because of who you are. I am sorry if you've ever been hurt by these people.

I don't remember the exact line in the bible but it warned people against listening to God's words and not following them. I stopped going a church for a while now, stopped reading the bible as the local priest in where I live is corrupted. I am saddened by his wrongdoings, despite his background and his role in the community. Sometimes people couldn't overcome their greed, instead, they let it slowly takes control of their life. I don't support such violence, greedy, blasphemy acts that many self-proclaimed Christians do.
Of course, I try my best to keep myself from sinning but still occasionally fall into it. It's difficult but I never stop believing, I never doubt God, I am aware of the consequences.
you can still read the bible without needing a pastor ! (and using bible study videos, bible apps, etc... I like the YouVersion app) but yes, there are many people out there who take advantage of their role in the church... not all of course, but there still exists some. and yes, all of us are sinners, including the corrupt people, but some people seem to not care that they are corrupt and actively feed into it.

yeah, I used to have a 200-day Bible reading streak but as I navigate through Job and Old testament, I kinda feel lost, still I read Proverb sometimes.
I can't say I'm doing everything that God teaches, not even half or partial. I'm cruising through life as it is right now
