what I've been into lately (mini media review #1)

last thing I read: East of Eden by John Steinbeck

Since college started, I’ve had trouble diving into personal readings outside of class, but last week I finally started this classic digitally on my laptop. So far I love Steinbeck’s use of language and perspective, there’s so much to pull from here and I'm only on page 56!

last thing i watched: The Long Walk

I watched this in theaters a couple of days ago and was left more haunted than expected. It filled the hunger games shaped void in my heart, while also breaking it at the same time. Thanks, Francis Lawrence!

last thing i listened to: Dust Bowl by Ethel Cain

I’d been putting off this album release for a while, but woah. Dust Bowl was a particular standout to me as it felt reminiscent of Preachers Daughter, but still had a different feeling to it.

verdict: A lot of the media I've been into has a rural, nostalgic tone to it. I like looking back at the past when things are cloudy in the present is what the oracle would say (aka me).
