Inverse Inspiration: Observing art demoralizes the desire to create it

I feel like every time I observe a piece of art that's moving to me, it makes me feel sad that I can't create it myself, and I've had this feeling for different pieces of media. Video games, music, flashy edits on TikTok, 2D and 3D animation, even fan-art.

"Man this is so cool, I wish I can do that! Let me look into practicing it.

Oh man this is a lot of work, I don't think I have the time or energy to balance everything in my life and pick up this hobby."

Two Main Ideas to Emphasize and Re-iterate to yourself (especially when you feel this way):

1. Practice & patience makes perfect. No one is good when they first start, like how Rome wasn't built in a day. If you research and practice it, you will get better. Watch one or two tutorial videos, try it in the beginning. If you like it, dedicated yourself to a schedule and keep going!

2. Passion is never kept waiting. If you're passionate about something, especially something creative, you're most likely going to find a will and way to express and practice that creativity. If you drop a hobby fast and lose the desire to dedicate your time for it, it may be a sign that you weren't in love with it in the first place, just infatuated.

If you plan stuff out, you have way more time in your day than you think. At the same time, there's only so many things you can focus on at once. It's best to keep the practicing/studying at 1-2 things at a time...

See you in the next one!
