After 8 months of pure procrastination I have finally finished playing P4Golden, usually I prefer playing games in one go, but this one rll drained the hell out of me somehow. The game is good don't get me wrong but I do have my grievances, however let me start with the good first.
In my opinion the character development and personality of the social links are some of the best in the entire series, I didn't do every single one, but the main ones (Rise, Yosuke, Nanako, etc) are incredible. Music is of course soo good, every track has it's own personality and a feel to it, but I do have to admit the tracks are kinda short and by the time you complete a dungeon, some will be very annoying to listen. The combat brings some elements of P3 but improves them for a better gameplay, mechanics like knockdown and weakness detection are some of them. ALso I have to talk about the exclusive skills every party member can have, in P5 there is the mechanic of exclusives, but I much prefer the P4 ones. Each one has a name fit for the characters persona and a special animation.
Now I unfortunaly have to talk about the damn dungeons in this game, somehow it is a mix between the worst of P3 and P5. Each floor is really big but with not so much enemy or visual variety, the item drops are horrible and get much worse because some enemies are impossible to find after you accept the quest that requires the drops they give. But the worst of the worst of these dungeons are: NO SAVING. If you exit the dungeon you can restart in the level you last where, but the trick is that you can only exit in the first floor, otherwise you have to use a Goho-M.
Overall the game is great, history and character are at it's peak here, but if you already are not a fan of turn-based combat, I recomend waiting for the revival.
