ive only been here for like, a few months or so, in hopes of looking for a new (old) internet experience, in order 2 meet new ppl and generally, to have a good time, but ever since i joined i noticed spacehey is a REALLY poorly made job, or one that doesnt get that much attention :/
for example, the updates are practically nonexistent, and the website faces serious problems w stuff like spam (at first i thought it was just people talking about their weird niche interests lol...), which doesnt seem to get better
then, functions like the layouts page has been dead for over a year, w no intention of reopening it it seems, and every profile looks kind of the same. no shame in that, not everynyan knows how 2 code, but it does make me wish for more diversity ;;
then, the error pages are just a blank redirected page with... nothing else. one line of text at best, and inconvenient at most (just try to kudo one of ur own epic blogs and youll see what i mean)
and lastly, it seems to be a lack of moderation, updates or any sort of life signal from the creator and staff. nothing. the bluesky where we r supposed to get updates is dead, and i dont even know who the moderators are!!
there are a bunch of other issues like the hypersexualization of minors and the bigots in alternative spaces, but thats another topic for another day
does it make any sense?? any1 knows what im talking about? x.x

As someone who’s been on here for almost two years now, I get where ur coming from but u have to keep in mind that Spacehey was initially just a pandemic passion project but eventually the platform grew bigger when more people demanded platforms that mimicked the early internet (some other examples u may know is Neocities and Bitview). The creator, An, is literally some dude in his early 20s so if he’s not bothering with Spacehey, more likely than not it’s literally because of college.
Ofc with all that being said, it’s not an excuse for the awful management they have on here but believe me it used to be SO much worse and I’d argue it’s been a lot better these days. Opening blogs last year literally meant getting bombarded with nsfw images and gore, the layouts were also affected by this. Spam wasn’t just bot accounts posting advertisements back then.
It’s easy to focus on the positive rather than the negative but truth is nothing will change if u just complain on here so might as well just contact them directly. Also mods is literally in the “contacts” page of Spacehey and I can assure u it takes u less than a minute to find it
i do know neocities and i do understand spacehey being a passion project of some kind but, since it got really hyped up, i turned to be a bit disappointed when, logically, An couldnt pay as much attention (as a college student i do get that lol), and i have been told about the gore posting thing, but since the gore and nsfw problem isn't a "thing" anyomore, why wont they reopen the layouts again?
and i also do know the "contacts" tab, i just meant it more in a "personal" sense, more like them being known as people more than just mods, a more informal treatment with the community while still maintaining the formality and authority that they do hold and deserve
