I've been trying to get back into the flow of reading, but what's really difficult is the feeling of books being too long. The page counts stress me out, or I am just not picking good books, I'll find something with an interesting plot or premise, but often main characters or the first person perspective are upsetting to me. Typically in fanfiction settings it's weird to write the focus of stories from first person, and my distaste for it has spread over to physical books. I need a separate narrator to tell me the actions. But, first person perspective is very interesting because your given the characters inner thoughts easily, helping you understand them better.
I feel that I lack the ability to sit down and real a physical book, the task feelings daunting and chore-like, despite the fact I enjoy reading! It simply shouldn't be such a struggle for me, but unfortunately it is.

kiko!
start off with comics. once you start flowing through them, either read poems or short novels. The can be really really good and usually are no more than 100 words.
