i've got soul but i'm not a soldier

on a better note, i think i'm gonna finally do some collage today!! i feel sort of bad, we turned my dad's old office into my art room so i can have a desk to put projects on that isnt my bedroom desk (which gets covered with clutter and becomes unusable every couple of weeks. i just cleaned it for the first time in like three months), but i kind of want to do stuff in my room today. just cause. i brought my stuff upstairs so yay! my only problem is that the sketchbook i have room to put art in is 7x10 and i'm used to collaging on a 5x8.5 paper.... it's okay, i think it'll look good regardless.

i've kind of been messing around with scrapbooking type collaging in my journal and occasionally sticking pictures i like in my sketchbook, but usually when i'm journaling i like to use a single big picture and put words on it, so i'm not sure if it's really collage. i kind of hyperfixated on journalling and collage at the start of the schoolyear and spent weeks in all my classes just cutting out photos as the teacher talked, but i haven't really used them for anything. here's a couple things i've done recently though

if you can't tell i take a lot of inspiration from the music i listen to lol. usually a collage starts because i see a photo that reminds me of a song or a song reminds me of a color scheme

and then here is just the cover of my ap environmental science/ap literature notebook for school!

anyway, i think i'm gonna do some stuff based off hot fuss. all the songs are very collagable, especially with the material i have on hand (vogue and national geographic from the 80s). maybe it'd be cool to do a zine or something, but i'm so bad at carrying out art projects. i really love this album though, so we'll see

on another note, i'm trying to actually talk to people. i was just texting berlin (they're about to become an uncle EEE i'm so excited i hope i get to meet his niece soon) and i just im'ed noah asking what my friends are doing on call right now, i miiight join them just to get some of my energy out.
