My ACTUAL writing style, in case y’all are wondering: A short story

[TW: Derealization]

We will not harm you. We are just some entities here to observe you.

The creatures. There were five of them. Five of which had little to no human anatomy as a part of them. They were objects. Walking, talking, ominous objects.

In a void, the creatures circle me. They scan me with their strange faces, which I was unsure had any eyes.

I mean…how can they see me?

The flower head was the first to do the talking. It stepped up from behind the shadows and cleared its throat. “Your fate has been decided,” it said. “We have collected your DNA in different ways- While you have been sedated, we drew blood from your limbs, bottled a sample of your saliva, ripped out maybe five locks of your hair? Oh- and we collected your tears!”

“What the heck?” I gasped. “Why did you collect my DNA, you fools!?”

The teacup lady then stepped up and held flower head’s hand. “Oh, Billy, we don’t mean any harm to you. We just need to collect DNA from those who have harmful thoughts

This has to be a joke…

“It seems the sedative has wiped away all memories,” the sunflower head said, now looking at my feet. “You are on suicide watch, and your body is at the mental hospital, fast asleep. We collect DNA from those who are in mental institution, and we have to decide on their fate.”

“That is right,” teapot said. “Your fate is…you will get to go home in about a week, but on one condition…Stop. Having. These. Messed. Up. Thoughts.”

“But,” I said, “it’s hard.”

“Go,” teapot said.

“Huh?”

“Go,” repeated sunflower.

Let’s pretend none of it ever happened…
