Had my worst haircut experience in my life. So I purposely grew my hair out an entire year to get a wolfcut for winter. This is obviously hundreds of days of growth. Two days ago I went to my most trusted barbershop that has never ever failed me. I arrived and there was only one barber available due to the others being occupied. Unfortunately, I was given the worst one I have ever had in my life. I showed him the picture multiple times to make sure. The second he put an electric buzzer to my hair I knew I was cooked. When it comes to wolfcuts you have to specifically use scissors and cut each layer. He immediately just hacked off months of growth instantly giving me zero layers to work with. My hair went from my shoulders to not even below the top of my ears. He gave me probably the most dysfunctional mullet in history.
ย When I got home my ass was almost in tears. I highly value my hair and having this done to me made me so damn disappointed. The next day I went back to get it fixed. The second I got into the parking lot his ass was outside smoking a dart. I tried my best to avoid his dumbass and talked to the guy at the desk to see if I could get it fixed. Fucktard walked inside that moment saying he'd do it for me. Thankfully this absolute king of a man stepped in to do it instead.ย
He immediately knew what to do and cut it to where it will grow into a wolf cut once long enough. I apologized and he reassured me by saying "yeah he fucked it." I didn't have to pay after which was super nice and they denied the tip I offered. I definitely went home with a smile on my face. For right now I look like a Wish.com version of Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting. I had planned an entire 80s inspired outfit for a festival I'll be going to in a week or so with the wolf cut as a key piece, but now I can do a 90s inspired outfit instead which I cant complain about.

iโve done my own hair since i was a teen because itโs just cheaper, and a lot of barbers/stylists have no idea how to do any sort of alt hair. i totally get what you meanโฆ.
once when i had short hair at twelve, i wanted an emo-ish pixie and they gave me the karen 3000. i saw no choice but to go full girl interrupted winona ryder.
i know itโs not very helpful, but itโll grow back!!!!
Unfortunately, the styles I have cut are way to complicated for me to do it myself. I wish I could though because it being cheaper would be amazing. I had a Karen cut once as well safe to say I never went back as well.

oh my god shout out to the second barber. i wonder if its short enough you could kinda fluff/spike it in an 80โs way still?
either way im glad this ended well for ya its crazy what a bad haircut will do to me.
He is amazing. Unfortunately my hair isn't styled as such where I can do 90s 2000s spiky hair. I'd love to though considering I used to as a kid.

same shit happened to me when i got one my freshman year of college. i hated it and i havenโt gotten my hair cut by a hairdresser since. im so happy they fixed it for you and youโre happy with it!! a bad haircut can really ruin the way you feel about yourself for a while
It seems it's universal that we have barber ptsd. Believe me I am very happy haha.

nahhh man nothing will wreck your confidence like a bad haircut. I got one so fucking bad when I was 14 that I just don't go to the barber anymore and do it myself, but I have a really simple cut and you can't do that comfortably with more complex things like a wolf cut. glad the second guy fixed it, dude's a real one for doing that for free.
Damn that cut must have been beyond fucked to never go again. Simple styles are the GOAT for that reason though. He definitely saved my ass I'm definitely requesting him to cut it next time.

dude it was so bad. wanted a shaggy 90s mid-length thing, sort of like what ler from primus had for a while, had pictures and everything, ended up with a horrible knockoff johnny ramone thing. no amount of styling could save it. I'll never get that $15 back.

Chronically Outdoors
Dude the same thing happened to me a few months ago! I was growing my hair out for a 70s shag with bangs (think jimmy page) and my hairdresser did me so dirty! Like the cut wasn't bad at all but it was not at all what I asked for. It was so short like my waves weren't even visible anymore. Thankfully my hair grows really fast but that is the worst feeling ever. So glad the other barber did a good job. That's some true customer service if I've ever seen it! I know your 90s inspired fit is going to go hard af. Glad you were able to stay on the bright side of things!
Damn Im sorry to hear that I would have been so disappointed. I bet it would have looked amazing. Yeah he definitely saved my year such a great guy. I mainly dress 90s so I have a repertoire of outfits.
