Hi everypony! I wanted to ramble a bit about some books I've been reading, movies I've been watching, and the one show I have watched this month! Lots of rambling about IWTV, as I have been really loving vampires lately, and reading about them!

Shows:

I have only one show to talk about that I have recently seen, and this show is Interview With The Vampire. I thought the movie was good, boy was I not expecting to fall head over heels infatuated with the show... Daniel Molloy is one of my favourite characters, and I am literally beyond excited to know that he will be in season 3... My god, I cannot wait for season three. Next year cannot come fast enough. I am curious about how things progress with Louis and Lestat, their final scene together destroyed me, man. I am so intrigued to see how things work out with Armand (SPOILERS UNTIL THE END OF THIS PARAGRAPH), he literally turned Daniel... Also, apparently they were together in the books, so I am intrigued to see how this plays out in the show. I haven't read the books, but I absolutely must get to them at some point! Anyway, FUCKKKKKK Lestat, abusive rat. But also I KNEW it didn't feel right when Louis was saying Armand saved him and did not indicate that Lestat attempted to stop his fate. I also miss Claudia dearly, I loved her even more in season 2 with her recasting. Flashback scenes with her are going to be brutal, unless... she is alive somehow. Doubtful, but you never know with this show.

I also want to bring up The X-Files as I have been sorely missing this show so freaking bad, it feels like a pang in my chest at the thought of it. SBS On Demand, if you are reading this.... Please bring it back, it's almost spooky month, it would be so perfect and I would love you forever 🙏🙏

Movies:

I finished watching Sinners this morning... My god. It was too dark of a movie to finish last night, bedtime is cosy time, and I honestly think it worked better. I am so intrigued about how vampirism works... They're clearly are able to hold off turning others, seeing as Stack did not bite Smoke. Also, I almost missed the ending because I figured it was all credits and no further scenes... Anyway, Mary was fine as hell, good lordddd. I do not have many insightful things to say, sorry guys...

This month I have also watched Mary and The Witch's Flower, rewatched Lady Bird, watched Little Women, rewatched Beetlejuice, Tangled, and The Lego Movie.

Books:

Last month, I read most of the Sookie Stackhouse novels. Trashy, but easy to read. I figured that this month, it was time to get through another series I owned but had not yet read, so I began reading the Bloodlines series. In the first book, I felt like I missed an entire book... Turns out this was a sequal series of sorts (I am sure there is a proper term for this), so I have that on hold to read once I am finished. Anyway, I was not expecting to actually have fun with this series... I have some issues with it, of course, but it's been pretty enjoyable! I have been eating up any novels about vampires...

And I have also been reading literally everything Thea Hawthorne has ever published... including her short stories. I am so fr when I say she is my new favourite author! I don't like to spend money on e-books, but you bet I spent money to support her, especially as she's an indie author from my state. I really love her work so freaking much, and I am beyond excited to read more about Esk — especially in upcoming novels.

So that's what I have been up to lately! Feel free to share anything about what you've been reading and watching, and also recommend something <3

book spoilers !!
armand and daniel were together in the books! its a weird relationship, with armand following daniel around everywhere and caring for him. daniel is also madly in love with armand (albeit from manipulation by armand), but what he really wants from armand is immortality, to be turned. armand won't give this to him, however, because he sees mortality as a gift, and he doesn't want to take that away from daniel. he eventually does turn him though, and then just seemingly abandons him?? anne rice lowkey just forgot about daniel after he got turned, only mentioning him a couple times in the later books.

fanon has greatly changed this pairing loll besides that one main chapter there's not much to go off of. im so excited to see what they'll do in season 3, especially since book daniel got turned when he was in his 30's, show daniel is in his 50's (i think) right now.

ohhh my god okay thats so interesting! I wonder why armand abandoned him... that does make sense with why Daniel was asking Louis if he heard from Armand at the end of the show — maybe it kind of followed that part? or he was just mad/ashamed and fled idk. but yes omg I too am excited to see how they work that into the show!

if you have any interest in classics, i would recommend you read carmilla! it's an early vampire novel, written before dracula, with a female vampire :-) even if classics aren't totally your thing i would suggest checking it out because it's short and not difficult to read, stylistically! i read it two years ago in the fall and it was so great for spooky season
