so.. my laptop broke :sobs: and RIP.
and im currently using a very old Chromebook thats literally about to broke too. and my parents said that ill be able to get a laptop on november/december. im literally crying rn (im not).
i need a laptop because i dont rlly use my phone that much. laptop was my everything :sobs:
i need a new laptop

So what exactly is wrong with your laptop (like it doesn't boot, it doesn't turn on...)? Also you could install a bios on the Chromebook (using Mr. Chromebox script) and then install Linux. You could get so much more functionality out of it.
uhm its because of ram/motherboard. its stuck at the logo sign
anddd the laptop is 14 years old. i dont want to spend money to get it repaired.

It's probably the bios chip. RAM rarely goes bad (personally I never seen it happen). And yes, you are right, fixing it is not viable, it would require flashing the bios chip with a clean dump or replacing it if it's physically broken (it involves soldering). As for the replacement you might want to get something second hand, office laptops often get sold for very cheap if the company gets an upgrade or goes bankrupt. I got a Lenovo Thinkpad T420 like this for the equivalent of 20 €. Anyways, best of luck ;)

No, if the bios chip is corrupt/fried (which is probably the case) replacing RAM sticks won't do anything. As I explained above, the laptop is unfixable because it would cost more than it's actual value.
Note: the bios chip is not the same component as RAM.
