will the internet go downhill?

i've been hearing about how the internet is bad, censorship, the damn phone ahh speechs and blah blah blah

and i was curious if the internet will ever go downhill because if everybody's talking about leaving the internet and the bad aspects of the internet then what's the point of staying 

and if there will be consequenses of said downhill
