Hi :)
Soo I wanted to write this blog to outline some writing projects I'm working on, mostly on and off. I work on them usually when I've got free time or while i'm sitting on the bus waiting for my stop (which takes FOREVER, so I get a good amount of time.)
These are a few concepts and character outlines i'd like to work out and hey, if anyone is interested in any of these concepts, feel free to ask and/or give me suggestions!
Star Trek: Between Stars
This is a star trek fanfic adjacent work that started self-insert fic but has slowly morphed into something entirely new LOL. I read a spock x reader fanfic called Logos and Pathos and became OBSESSED.
It stars communications officer Maxyne, an alien aboard enterprise who comes from a planet of empaths. She's very Deanna Troi adjacent, but with a more TOS flair; She works as the on ship-therapist and negotiations, and is almost-married-then-split-up with a prominent member of the crew and has an amicable but complicated relationship with her family. She's kind, a bit hot headed and tends to be overwhelmed easily (her empathic powers, though helpful, hinder her a bit.)
Since this is/was a self insert fic, her ex-fiancé is Spock (obviously, I love him) and their emotion vs logic ways of thinking clash. this fic is set after their messy separation and it's mostly for me to daydream about with no real plot other than the emotional aspect of it.
it's open to being bleached and washed into a story INSPIRED by Trek, rather than direct self-insert fic.
My Summer at Black Mesa
damn wait do I write too much fic? i just like taking settings and placing my characters into it LOL. this too could be separated from the source materials with little to no problems.
This is about three guys who do stuff. Based off of a machinima series by yours truly and some friends (Half Life: Full Mind Awareness) but set in Black Mesa (Half Life 1) circa 2011. Following Felix (27), a nepo-hire/college barely finished by cheating/in his brother's shadow/glorified secretary in the deep security-classified levels of Black Mesa.
This summer, his two cousins come to Black mesa:
John (20) from his dad's side, who is a new hire in the Engineering Dept., mostly working on vehicles and transport. He's kinda going through it, his relationship with his on-again-off-again girlfriend/baby mama is rocky, but being at work is his happy place where he knows what he's doing. His brother works at BM too, funnily enough.
Then comes Wyatt (19), with his twin brother Wayne, (Felix's mom's side) who come on a summer internship program. Wayne is intense and focused, while Wyatt is laid back, mostly self sabotaging his own learning experience. Felix gets the twins into the program because he owes his aunt a favor.
In this story, the three cousins come together to experience friendship, brotherhood, loss, learning, coming of age, and vaping. My Summer at Black Mesa is DEEP with lore so this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Raul
A concept of a concept I'm working on for a team- a bit of writing, but mostly art concepts and design. it's gonna be a video game! (hopefully)
Benja (tenative name) is an almost-18-year-old in Mexico, in his last year if high school. Undecided on what he's going to do with the rest of his life and feeling the weight of that anxiety, he starts having weird dreams- but they may not be just dreams. Monsters and Phantoms stalk him in the night, making his house a nightmare. During the day, his parents are strict and expect highly of him, while speaking ill of his brother who cut ties with them. He navigates the tense world of the day and it's emotional reactions and relationships, and fights and hides during the night, fearing the monsters are more vicious than they seem.
a kind of coming of age story of a young man deciding what it is he wants to be. psychological thriller, i think (?).
Anyways that's all. I might start writing brief scenes here so I can get feedback or just to keep track of what it is I'm even doing. okay byeee <3
