Home stereo set-up

Here's my current stereo set up:

My receiver is a Harman/Kardon hk 350i. It was made in the 1980s but I can't pinpoint an exact year. If you happen to know when these were produced i'd like to know. It's introductory level for hi-fi. here's the owner's manual.
I got it used for 30 USD so it's not in the best shape. the knobs are misaligned and the many of the LEDs are burnt out. If i ever get around to opening it up i'll make a post. I'm hoping that if i give it a good cleaning it'll sound better.

I don't currently have an amplifier.

Speakers are bookshelf ELAC Uni-Fi 2.0s. I like them thus far, only been able to listen thru them for four-ish weeks.
These are the only thing bought new at the mo'. I looked into buying used speakers but nothing ever worked out and I got tired of not having any speakers.

My CD player is a Sound Design Model 5044 BLK. It's a piece of junk, but i can't deny the joy i get watching the disk go round. and it works well. I got this used for 20 USD-- which was pushing what i was willing to spend on something this cheaply built. These were produced in the late 80s (1988/89).
I have this plugged into the tape deck input on my receiver
The pièce de résistance, my gen 2 iPod mini. I flash modded it, replaced the battery, and got a new aluminum case. From 4Gb of storage to 120Gb. I'm not sure how long the battery lasts, but I know its got 24+ hours in it. It runs Rockbox now. Connected by 3.5mm jack to aux in.
I'd like to try modding an iPod Classic if i ever find a very cheap one...
