My one-year anniversary of being on SpaceHey

So today marks my SpaceHey account's one-year anniversary and I thought it'd be nice to make a blog post to celebrate, and yes I'm posting on the exact same hour I joined, down to the minute.

So, one year. Woot woot! \O/ I'm gonna be doing a general recap on my life over the last year and general SpaceHey happenings.

A lot can change in a year.

I'm an adult now, for starters. I'm graduating from high school in November, and it's honestly the weirdest feeling ever. You never expect the day to come, the day your childhood ends. When it does come, it just... happens. The marching clock of time scares me for many reasons. Aging is one of them.

I'll have to start studying for college entrance exams soon so I can get a scholarship for an actually good college. I've already decided on a major, international relations. Mostly because I speak English fluently and love history and geography, so that knowledge is gonna transfer over.

Regarding SpaceHey itself, I've met quite a few nice people here and made some friends. I found out about this place through an old friend's Discord bio where they linked their profile. I ignored it for a while before biting the bullet and making an account.

I made my account and it laid dormant until late October, when I started actually using it and talking to people. Yeah, some of the people in my friends list have been inactive for quite a while. I hope they're doing okay and that they come back, they were pretty cool people.

I got into a few fandoms since then, like Ongezellig and Transformers. I got to collaborate with people on Wplace making pixel art of characters and YouTubers.

I found out that I'm aroace, which I've gone over in my previous blog post if you're interested, and it was my personal highlight of the year. I doubted myself for so long for not going after romance as much as my friends did. Again, shoutout to JaidenAnimations for helping me come out.

I used someone's layout as a base for my profile, and gained a weirdly good grasp of how to code in CSS. I mean, I made my blog post layout from scratch! It's frustrating, but I can't say it isn't satisfying and rewarding to see your code finally working after hours of trial-and-error. =]

I'm trying to be more active and talkative here, as opposed to friending and never talking to people. Don't take it personally if I don't message you! It's just me being anxious when talking to someone new.

As of writing, I changed my profile music back to the OG one I used when I first joined, just for nostalgia purposes. You've probably heard it if you're a frequent visitor of my profile, but it should be fresh if you're not.
