As some know I had a mental crisis in 2023 and I've really been struggling to get back on my feet since then. Well I had a particularly nasty break down recently due to various events in my life, and my family insisted I reach out to a crisis center in my town. I met with their resident Psychiatrist and she prescribed me new medication, it's too early to tell if it's helping, but it's really my case worker who is the mvp.
She's really been super helpful with finding resources, and coping skills that are relevant to me. Like, I get it's literally her job, but she's still helped me put tremendously. I'm glad I reached out, at first I was really worried, however it was super worth it. I'm also thankful for my city, its a public program so all my medications are low cost or free.
Lastly I applied to the job corps. I'm currently talking with the admissions department, and I've been assigned a representative. She's nice, but hella old and takes forever to reply to emails or texts. I'm hopeful for the first time in a long time. Nothing is guaranteed, however there is a good chance I can pursue my passion for wildland firefighting and forestry conservation. The job corps will move me out of my house, pay me while I'm job training, and help me find housing and a job after I graduate.
