Thoughts on social media? (why i love spacehey)

hii, I'm new here and am in love with the site!! I've been wondering if there's a modern oldschool page like this for awhile and finally just became aware of it from LuvstarKei's new video the other day and am so happy to learn there's still stuff like this out there! been putting hours into editing my profile for 3 days straight lol :D

anywayz something on my mind recently that I wanna talk about is one main thing I dislike about modern social medias, which is the posting format. like I can't stand how facebook & instagram etc are designed to bump new posts to everyone's timeline, even notifying them sometimes. don't get me wrong I love seeing when others post and enjoy keeping up with ppl when I'm up for it, but like I just wanna be able to personalize my profiles without having my posts get pushed onto everyone's feed ya know, most times I just wanna post for myself and only for if anyone decides to visit my page. 

this is why my insta has basically been dead for the past 2-6 years; there is apparently a way to upload silently by sharing to close friends, only listing an alt or something, then after a month you can make it public without anyone noticing but jeez who can be bothered with all that for each and every post lol.

maybe I'm overthinking about it too much or not seeing the bigger picture that is most ppl prob just scroll by without thinking much, but idk my anxiety or not wanting to be bothersome or whatever keeps me away from even feeling like sharing anything at all, promoting my work/arts, or even updating my facebook pfp after 5 years. and I mean like, I used to be heavily into fb from age 8-15 and sharing tons of posts every single day, but for the past 5+ years, while I have closed myself off from those sites and only log in every few days-weeks/months, I literally only post 1-5 times a year if that on those kinds of social medias. 

one of the reasons I love about spacehey so much is that not only can you customize your profile infinitely however you want, but also not have any of it spam onto other people's feed if you wish not to. maybe this is mostly all cuz it's the same reason I hate living in a small area since I'm scared of being recognised by ppl I haven't seen in half a decade so I rarely go outside, which is why I wanna move to the city so I can feel more invisible, but yeahz. 

RateYourMusic is another great alternative for me since I have a list for posting all the thoughts/updates I want without it getting bumped into anyone's notif box unless I decide to. but tbf even blogs on here seem cool to me, maybe since it's more anonymous and can get lost in all the other blogs out there or smth, and plus if I'm ever not feeling like sharing to the blog tab or feel it's smth trivial there's 5 different sharing options so I can set it as private/friends/favs only etc; bulletins as well, like it's the fact that nothing is in your face, it feels more optional and in your control whether you wanna click on something or not from the title or who you follow/subscribe to n stuff. plus I also have the option to even just silently add it to a scrollbox section on my profile for blog archives instead, which is all so freeing to me bro. 

if anyone sees this then thx sm for reading!! sorry if I kinda rambled on a lot, I just felt like sharing my thoughts on this and express how much I love this site rn, like it fr might already be in my top 3 webpages.
