yapping about the irish folklore trilogy by cartoon saloon

i just finished watching all three movies and all i can say is that absolute cinema! i wish they would bring back hand drawn animation on well known media, i wish people used it more cause it's extremely expressive, the shift from clean to messy lineart in robyn's character did an amazing job showing her growth and her breaking from the cage and obtaining freedom, clean lines portrays her being caged in, messy lineart is her finally being free, i love that, it's genius. it wasn't just an animation, all three of them is a journey of emotions, made me extremely invested on irish folklores after. song of the sea made me cry the most, i love how it's a symbolism of a mother dying after childbirth, it absolutely wrecked me, and the secret of the kells probably is the most underrated in the three of them, i love the dark touch of it, and how true learning is going out to see the world rather than being caged in, finding the beauty in a world even when harm is everywhere makes life worth living. you make beauty, you find it, even when the world is on fire.
