with the new semester starting, i kinda realized, "damn, i really am addicted to the damn phone." so needing to focus on school as well as realizing how bad my phone probably is for me, i decided to start being more offline. my first step in this journey has been buying a pocket notebook, so i won't need my phone for notes. so far it's worked great! i love being physically able to jot down my thoughts on paper whenever. whether it's a reminder or me needing to verbalize my thoughts in some way to relieve stress, the feeling of writing it all on paper feels so nice. i also bought an mp3 player to replace my phone's music app. i've been meaning to anyways since streaming is more and more expensive and barely pays artists. so far i already have 400 songs on the thing lmao.
i must say, being less on my phone has really cleared my mind. i've also started taking more walks and it feels so refreshing. i think our phones are really ruining our lives in a way because life without having to use it nearly as often has felt so much better. i feel so much less tethered to it.
