Junk food recipes from today

Today I had a bad day, so I indulged myself with some unhealthy food, and boy was it good.

I normally dislike potatoes, but I love it in all forms that don't actually taste like potatoes. And I have a bucket full of potatoes still left. So for a snack I made a batch of potato chips. I cut a small potato into very thin slices, just a couple milliliters thick, and soaking them in water until it was clean and drying them out on a fabric towel before throwing them into oil on a frying pan. Then I sprinkled a ton of salt and pepper spice, on top and just waited until they got golden brown. I prefer my chips brown, not going to apologize. I'm pretty sure I found somewhere online that you can use vinegar to get them to be a store-bought yellow hue, but I never tested it. A single potato made for a small bowl of chips, so I could eat it in one sitting.

For dinner, I made myself a bowl of chocolate oats with walnuts and cinnamon. I've been meaning to try it for a while now, but I simply don't eat oats that often. I'm pretty sure you can just do it in microwave, but I used a pot. It's really just oats with cocoa. I put half a cup of oats, a handful of crumbled walnuts, half a cup of oat milk (regular milk is fine too, obviously), a generous spoon of cocoa and a pinch of powdered cinnamon. Then I heated the whole thing and stirred until it became thick as my bum after eating it. I didn't have bananas at hand, but I could cut it into the oats if I ever make them again.

Do you have any other simple recipes? I'd love to try something else someday!

Thank you for reading!

that is cool - I don't think I ever tried making potato chips but making tortilla chips is easy, just slice into fourths and fry them then place on a couple paper towels lol. I will have to think of some nice recipes to share with ya! I am always cooking my own food.

your post made me want to have some oatmeal with cocoa btw lol
