Clairo & Performative Males

Clairo's music is genuinely pretty good. I love how calm it feels and her voice is so soft and calm. Makes me calm.

 I'd say if you were to break down what makes a performative male most of the things are fine on their own. Vinyl collecting and old music? I do that! Feminist literature? Genuinely important for society and great to be educated on. Matcha? Much loved drink and flavour everywhere. Even labubus. 

Man. I love a labubu. They're so cute. Obviously im not one for consumerism and capitalism and all of that but you can still hate cute things. Ugly = hate and not ugly ≠ love is NOT how you should be living your life!!! I don't even hate them. I hate how expensive they are but I think people like to work themselves up.

As for feminist literature, I think that should be encouraged. Getting people out and reading is so great, who cares if they're just pretending? As well with the feminist bit, as long as you're really reading it and getting educated that's great and I love to see it. And I agree, periods needs to back off.

The reason I'm thinking about this is that I have a friend who some could argue is a performative male. Very nerdy, loves Radiohead and nirvana and the like, etc etc. difference is, he loves Radiohead. He could tell you the entire history of weezer's ex girlfriends and reenact the third iron man movie at the same time because he likes that.

I think it's okay to be performative. 

I think you should be yourself, and it's okay to be deceitful. If you want to talk to someone then yeah, make yourself seem cool. Why would I care? If all this performance pays off though, it's an asshole move to not drop it. 

I'm not for the matcha overconsumption in any shape or form. Fuck that.

I say just do whatever makes you happy.
