I used to try journalling each in-game day in a book and quill whenever I played, like my own little diary in the game. But I quickly couldn't keep up, constantly missed days, didn't complete enough in a day where I feel like it's worthwhile to write about. I gave up for a while until I figured out a solution
I got this mod to change the time speed. Now daytime and nighttime lasts 10x longer than the default 1 irl second = 1 in-game minute, so now it takes more than 3 hours to complete a full 24-hour day without sleeping
And after playing with it for a while, I realized there's even more benefits than just journaling
- I can now go on expeditions without having to worry about nightfall every 10 minutes, no monsters bothering me and more importantly no phantoms! So productive
- If I want to do something that can only happen at night I have to plan more since it takes way longer and it's so easy to skip night by sleeping, it sounds like a con instead of pro but I like it because it adds a good balance
- It just feels way more slower-paced and calming, I don't feel a need to rush anything anymore
- I can watch sunsets for longer :3
