burning music to CDs is not a crime- a lot of people did it in the late 90s and early 2000s. burning music to CDs for the sake of selling them for profit is, as that's piracy. if you are planning on burning CDs to sell them, do not attach any of you legal information- including your name- to it. i don't want any of yall to get in legal trouble, so please be smart about this.
thank you.

so... burning CDs has been a thing for as long as CDs have been a thing. but how do they get all that music onto one tiny disc? well, thats what i'm here to teach!! the good news is- if you have a computer made before 2011, you should have CD drive to use!! the bad news is, almost nobody has a computer made back before 2011. so, you're gonna need a CD burner.

if you're looking to get one, you can get one here!!
so first, you're gonna open youtube to get the song[s] you're looking to burn.

then, you're gonna copy the link, open this website, and paste it in the box to download it as an MP3 file.

then, youll insert this onto a given CD software. personally i use burnaware, as it works with my computer best. do this for the rest of your songs, until you either feel the disc has enough or the disc is basically full.

after that, click "burn."
it'll take a while, but after it's done burning, the disc drive in the burner should pop out like this:

and that's it!! you've just burned a CD!!

their are wayyyy more cheaper ones on amazon. dont need to pay fuckin 135 dollars for a usb cd drive ;-;
to be fair, i recommended that one because i found it by reverse-image searching mine, which i got for like $30. theres cheaper options, as i found a $17 one on walmart's website (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Portable-CD-Burner-Player-Type-C-External-DVD-Drive-USB-3-0-Type-C-for-Laptop-PC/14104368987?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=101098476&selectedOfferId=0DA4AB2F1B4632D5B2116865D32D1D59&conditionGroupCode=1). i do wonder if the high-pricing of items like this is to further discourage the average person from burning their own CDs- remove the built-in ports on modern computers, make the technology needed for that more expensive than it needs to be. seems pretty foolproof if im honest.

I love that people are sharing information like this for a new generation. Back when MP3s started to take over I used to burn albums onto CDs to have as backups and to listen in my car before Bluetooth integration was a thing. You can make your own mixes and gift them to friends too a la old school mixtapes. The OG playlist. Thank you for compiling this info together!
