i understand theres a common saying of "seperate the art from the artist" but do you guys feel weird listening to peoples music after realising all the horrible things they have done in their life?
just curious to see everyones opinion really, as i listen to artists that have been exposed for doing vile things, but i think i wouldnt want to support them in any other way than listen to their music (example, buying merch or physical copies of their music, yk?)

i do honestly . listening to them on spotify does support them ig , bt tbh im jst a drop in the bucket w how many ppl usually listen to said artist ( eg , d4vd , melanie martinez , etc ) . i do believe in seperating the art from the artist tho . if yu listen to sum1 who did bad stuff i honestly dc . i only use spotify to listen to artists who did bad stuff bc i jst dnt like the ui of othr apps ( like soundcloud , pandora , yt music , etc ) . if they make good music , im gna listen to it lol . anyways , moral of the story , to each their own .

I usually turn to the pirate costume in cases like that you can enjoy the art and not support the artist not condoning it but it is an option if you feel a typa way for supporting the artist

tory lanez has some great music but we all know where he is right now. for example, i love his Alone at Prom deluxe album. I think it hits on a different level. 87' Stingray is a masterpiece of a song. but uhhh. will i go out of my way to listen to any more of his music? no.

depends. does their badness also show in their songs? for example, msi. racist, pedo band. they have songs with the n word and a song about sexualizing a 5 year old. i just dont understand how anyone can say they dont support msi but still listen to their music knowing that their songs literally have the bad shit in them that jimmy urine especially has been accused of
but if their songs dont have that bad shit in them? thats a different story. sometimes bad people make genuine bangers. if its been proven that theyve done something morally reprehensible but you arent monetarily supporting them by buying their music and merch and stuff, then honestly who cares?

tbh it depends on what they did and if their actually guilty, if they are indeed guilty of something really bad i will feel bad listening to them but if its a small incidents that could be rumors from the internet...i just ignore it because i love music
