Never got a chance to post about it because I've been busy since, but I went to the Long Beach stop of Warped Tour's 30th anniversary!
Walking to the site.
They said it sold out with 80k people, I can believe it.
Then it came time to look at the blow-up, old-school style!
I was a little conflicted on this one. On the one hand, I love that they stuck to their guns on this and did it like old Warped Tour used to. Having every festival use the same apps, and the same setup means that none of them have a unique personality, also, mobile data sucks at a lot of these festivals (mine dropped for like 4 hours I was there) so this is a good idea in general, but man it can be inconvenient at times 😅
First up was Pull the Curtain (setlist)
They were pretty decent! I was watching their set waiting to watch Drain afterwards. I think they won a battle of the bands or something to get on the main stage. I feel like they played a bit too much into millenial nostalgia for my liking, I felt like half their set was "Hey guys, 'member this from 200X?" Like literally one of their songs is named after that dude from Spongebob, lol. But they were solid.
Drain (setlist)
Holy shmoly.
In all of my years going to shows. I have never been in a pit where I felt scared, until Drain, lol. It is an experience unlike any other that I'm glad I did but will never do again. 😅 They need to sell a shirt that says "I survived the Drain pit" or something like that. Wild.
Amazing set! Sammy brought an amazing energy to the whole thing and was all over the place, band sounded awesome and on point. They played two newer songs from the upcoming record "...IS YOUR FRIEND". Check one more off the bucketlist.
Fishbone (setlist)
Super fun band, not much more to say than that. Would recommend!
The Suicide Machines (setlist)
One of my bucket list bands. Way back in the era of the Nintendo 64, I got a game called Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and that game introduced me to Punk Rock. But one band always stood out to me with an undeniable frenetic energy, and that was the Suicide Machines.
And they haven't missed a beat, sounded awesome, played all of the hits. A+
The Vandals (setlist)
I caught the first couple songs waiting on the merch lines (didn't get anything, lol too long) so I decided once Euro-Barge came on I would just finish watching the band.
I did not realize how old the Vandals were, probably the only band to show their age, but they still rocked it.
The Aquabats! (setlist)
Had heard of the Aquabats but never really listened before. Watched them waiting on Body Count. They came to party! Had a great time. Lots of inflatables, someone was even crowd surfing on one of the inflatables.
Ice T (setlist) & Body Count (setlist)
I was pretty mixed on this. I really wanted to see Body Count, but either the organizers or Ice himself decided to switch it to where Ice did his rap set first and THEN Body Count came out. Which would have been fine had it been 50/50, except that it was like 80/20. The rap setlist was like 20 songs long, and Body Count got like 5 songs. It was a great 5 songs, but it was obvious everybody was there for Body Count because the crowd came up for it. Also, Ice's old man misogyny and homophobia are way out of place for a 2025 Warped Tour crowd, but it is what it is. Glad I can check it off the bucket list, but I won't be seeing another set.
Enter Shikari (setlist)
Had only listened to the first album of Enter Shikari way back, so I wanted to see what they would sound like now. Good set! Lots of energy.
Taylor Acorn (setlist)
One of the things I love about Warped Tour is that there were smaller stages dedicated to smaller or lesser-known acts. Taylor Acorn was one of those. I wondered over to the smallest stages to just check out who was there. Setlist was pretty good! My only gripe is that they had no bassist and were playing a bass backing track through the PA. Come on, lol in this day and age I guess that's becoming more of a purist thing, but it always begs the question, why have a backing band at all if you're just going to play backing tracks? Anyway, fun act!
SUNAMI (setlist)
NorCal Hardcore! I know that Warped Tour doesn't exactly shy away from "heavy" acts, but I was pleasently surprised that Sunami had a spot, and naturally I wasn't gonna miss it. Great sound, great energy, loved it.Â
30H!3 (setlist)
I'm gonna be honest, I had no intention of really watching them, lol I was waiting on Silverstein. BUT, by the end of it I was pleasantly surprised and into it. The crowd was there for everything they did, they sounded great!
Silverstein (setlist)
No way in the world I was gonna miss the Silverstein boys! I was also surprised by how much of their set was newer material, I was even more surprised by how much of crowd sang along to those songs. At WWWY last year I got to see all of Discovering the Waterfront live, but it was nice to see other songs both old and new. What can I say? They're my tied for favorite band of all time and they never disappoint. I also finally got to hear Smashed Into Pieces live, and it was awesome.
After that, I decided to call it a day. I debated on whether or not I was gonna stay for Black Veil Brides, but I guess I wasn't alone in that thought because A TON of people left after Silverstein, lol oops.
Leaving the venue.
Overall, a great first day. I also saw a number of bands that I didn't take pictures of that I enjoyed like Sophie Powers and Fire From the Gods. Sadly I did not go to day 2 because I felt like a truck hit me and was sun burnt, lol But thankfully the livestream did a good job of catching me up.
Were you also at this Warped Tour date?

Awesome!! I was there!! Was only planning on doing LB but I really wanna do Orlando now too - I'm from Canada and a lot of the bands don't tour up here often or at all
Glad you ended up enjoying 3OH!3 :D I grew up listening to a few of their songs and listen to them a ton now
Thanks for the comment! Yea I imagine it must be rough to be into a lot of American bands and then the best they'll do is maybe play Toronto, if that. Glad you had a fun trip!
And yea I had heard of 3OH!3 way back but it wasn't really the music I would normally listen to, but they rocked it! Sounded great, were lots of fun, great energy. There really weren't any bands that I heard who sounded bad or weren't feeling it for the crowd.
