inertia (poem)

time stands still 

as cycles repeat 

day after day 

the earth revolves around me 

leaving me behind 

am I the only one 

resistant to moving forward? 

or has our world been designed to remain stagnant 

unchanging 

familiar 

comfortable 

never progressing 

as we suffocate in a canopy of normalcy woven by our production 

are we forbiden from differenciating? 

or do we remain as we are from fear 

of what may happen 

if we distrubt the routine we have been fed for decades

 the earth continues to mature 

while we convince ourselves we do

 is it time that stands still

or is it us 

who are too scared to move
