studying is so outdated

how are we expected to read an entire book, memorise words and skim through chapters all in a few weeks for an exam. Most of my class is going to do badly because during the lectures we have some guy playing minecraft, a girl watching mukbangs, and one dude who always sits in the front row and talks to what it appears to be like his girlfriend, just flexing on us single folk. 

I have no problem when its a book that I CHOOSE and I get to write a report on or solve an exam about, but when they MAKE US BUY A $135 EBOOK THAT IS ONLY MINE FOR ONE SEMESTER, AND THEN I DONT HAVE ACCESS TO IT, THEN WHATS THE BLOODY POINT?

we dont have the attention span to watch a 30-second TikTok let alone, read a boring school book. surely there must be new ways or techniques for education or are we going to keep forcing students to learn like this forever. 

and studies have shown that even in top schools like harvard, yale, etc their students also struggle to read certain books because we all have the same problem whether ur smart rich or poor.
