beneath the weight of moonlit skies,

two voices soft, a sweet reprise.

two sistersΒ and their final song,

a tender tune to carry them on.

the words they sang, both pure and true,

a kind of bond time cannot undo.

"but since it falls unto my lot,"

"that i should rise and you should not."

the older sister's eyes softly gleamed,

her heart full of what they both had dreamed.

for in her chest, a hope was still burning,

but fate would turn,Β never returning.

the young sister was light, full of grace.

her voice a prayer, a slow embrace.

she softly cried the lyrics they sang,

not knowing how soon the dream would hang.

the song they sung was a final dance,

an aching glance with fleeting chance.

the older rose, with weight to bear.

yet the young, in silence, just vanished there.

and through the years, through the endless days,

the older sister lived in darker ways.

with every step, a shadow had cast.

the song now a memory from the past.

Maggie rose, as life itself did call.

good night, and joy be with you all.
