can you guys give me sic and twisted book recommendations ?? i want to get back into reading for a while and i want something that'll also have a good plot. This could include horror , thriller , mystery , or just some weird !

The Spirit Bares Its Teeth by Andrew Joseph White, Spellbound by Christopher Pike, Our Wives Under The Sea by Julia Armfield. These are not probably gonna be extreme horror to everyone, but I wanted to comment them down anyway. Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle as well!!

Someone already mentioned it, but "Tender Is the Flesh" by Agustina Bazterrica is pretty good, and the ending surprised me! I can also recommend “Brother” by Ania Ahlborn, which was a pleasant surprise for me It has a chainsaw massacre vibe, but more civilized, I advise you to look at the trigger warnings. And “To Be Devoured” by Sara Tantlinger, which is 90 pages long and which I loved, about a girl who develops a fascination with vultures!

I know it's pretty popular but if you haven't already read Tender is the Flesh, you might like it. It's about cannibalism, it's set in a world where cannibalism has replaced eating animal meat and follows the main character who works in the slaughterhouses that kill people for food. It's a commentary on corrupt governments but also just a good horror book in my opinion.

If you want something sick, try out "Cows" by Matthew Stokoe. It literally has a lot of pain, abuse, animal and human death and torture, faecalis, murder, suicide, a lot of twisted sex moments, like, really twisted, body moistures and so so so on. I don't think it was written by someone mentally healthy because it basically feels schizophrenic and has no single good or mentally well character at all. Almost every sentences in the book made me go "oh my god, what?" over and over again. But, damn, i loved the plot lines so so so much and philosophy, i would really watch the movie or play a game based on this book. Even without all shocked content that make you think "should i continue reading it?", it's a masterpiece. For a book which is known by youtube gentle souls as a piece where a guy fucks a cow it is so much more. It's like if "Cry of fear" was actually playable
