Hello, this will be my first-ever blog post! (Wow, that's so awesome and cool.)
I'll probably have a bit of code for my blog so it's easier to sort my rants into specific categories, those being...
(t)/(T) = Track/song
(a)/(A) = Album
(f)/(F) = Film
(s)/(S) =Show
(m)/(M) = Miscellaneous
(p)/(P) = Personal entry/life update
(v)/(V) = View/Personal Take
I want to try and keep it as organized as I can, and hopefully it's easier to sort through in case anything were to happen. ;)
The first entry—1# (T)...Ispagula in the fridge—Stegosaurus Trap
I first came across this song on Bandcamp in late 2021, perhaps in July or June. What really got me hooked on this song, out of the 10 other tracks on the Songs for Seven Lizards album (2020), were the very light and misty guitar riffs. It reminds me of Wholewheat's 'Songs from My Parents' Basement' or perhaps another album along the more bedroom kramz or shoegaze genre of music. This and perhaps a few of Deftones' or Slowdive's earlier works, maybe a bit of LSD and the Search for God, as well. I liken the feeling of listening to this track to almost floating in a thick pool of ink and oil; it's very memorable. The album artwork is super unique (I love when albums have unique cover art), which sort of hones in on that very...homemade and emotional appeal of the album as a whole. While this song is indeed my favorite track out of the 2020 album, I like the rest of the tracks as well. I'll link the track's Bandcamp down below in the link's section, so feel free to check it out. I honestly think it's worth taking a peek.

As for the background behind the actual album, I'm not quite sure. I'm aware that David Firth (wow, same name) stated on their Bandcamp that most of these albums are tracks and unreleased projects dating as far back as 2009. So there's a chance that Ispagula in the fridge is a part of these unreleased 2009 projects. For context, David Firth is the animator and creator of the well-known YouTube existential horror series 'Salad Fingers' and also happens to have a few other music projects also known as Locus Toybox.
However, on a personal anecdote, I think that his earlier music project, 'Stegosaurus Trap,' is far better than his Locus Toybox project at the moment. However, I'm open to any music as far as I'm aware. The more niche, the better the music. Indie creators always bring me joy, even if they are controversial in some regard. In those situations, I'm a firm believer in the old saying "separate the art from the artist," which was coined after the 'art for art's sake' movement in the mid-19th century, first coined by Walter Pater in 1868, then additionally refined in 1873. I believe it was first coined in the late 21st century, first showing up on the interwebs from the 2017 #Metoo movement.
As always, I take any sort of media recommendations. Just throw it at me!
Anyways, thank you for listening!
This is David signing off at 1:52pm, 9/9/25.
