Something in the sky

So I woke up at like 4am and wanted to check my phone. Idk how did I sleep so long. Anyways then I remembered a perseid meteor shower was happening in September 9 (Today)

And even though I knew I wouldn't see much of them cuz of the town lights, I wanted to look in the window anyway. Hoping that maybe I would see at least one.

I suddenly saw some star (kind of red) in the sky moving and blinking. I thought it might be just a plane, but then I realized it was going down? (It also had a small tail but barely visible iirc) So I thought maybe it's one of the meteors but idk.

I'm not sure if it's a meteor or a plane going down/crashing but I really do hope it is a meteor.

I really would love to see a meteor shower one day.
