Tell me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure people role playing together has or is dying out.
#1 There was always people who think it’s weird which don’t really blame it’s pretty much just like theatre improv but in text form and not everyone is about that.
#2 Ai like character.Ai and other apps have millions of characters and you can make your own and you don’t have to worry about people’s speed, what they will say cause you can refresh the bots answer or edit it, and it’s even got voice and pictures for some reason.
( someone should make an app specifically for RP with actual people if that’s doesn’t already exist )
#3 For some reason people are treating social media like it’s real life afraid to actually talk to people and forget you can be kinda silly not everything has to be serious.

there’s still rp communities out there. there’s bound to be one on here, tumblr, and maybe even reddit. I have a friend who rp’s on ffxiv but you have to subscribe to it so if may not be accessible if you don’t have any money

I think I saw it on TikTok but someone said something about people now try really hard to be cool and shun people who are too comfortable being unserious
It also probably doesn’t help that people have a lack of friends so doing anything like RP could risk losing the few friends people have

Yeah I agree, can't have fun on the internet anymore, anything that's slightly considered cringe is pushed away instantly.
It's definitely not dead yet though, I think places like Roblox and Discord are definitely like the last fortresses left of what it used to be.
Roblox could get its own post cause there’s a lot to talk about it but it’s lost the soul of being simple fun / innovative fun
Around 2020 it just went downhill
