Money, Inflation, and Hygiene

Tell me why I just went and bought 5 things from one of my local Dollar Generals-- all of which are general hygiene products (deodorant, body wash, etc.)-- and why it was $45.05. I feel like that's just absurd, especially coming from Dollar General of all places.

Like, let's not even talk about how much it would cost to buy from places online or from bigger retailers like Walmart or Target... It's actually insane..

Me personally I would say I'm actually really privileged to be able to have bought said hygiene products with money in person and be able to even go to the Dollar General, really, I'm a lot luckier than most of my friends, but that just makes it worse in this case... Like, one of my friends spent $100(?) on basic hygiene products for her family?? I'm pretty sure she also went shopping at a Dollar General as well...

This economy is legit unlivable if you're not middle middle class or upper middle class+.
