WARNING:gross shit, dead animals ig,,,,, i want to cut something open and see the insides

i dont know if im just being an edgy tween or something,

but i want to get a dead animal, a knife and cut it open and see what i find.

preferably an old animal, whos already lived its life, and maybe who died of old age. or maybe by being shot in the head,

and preferably a freshly dead one. im not too liking of maggots and such, and if im not liking of maggots then maybe i shouldnt open a dead animal at all.

i find dead animals interesting, and sometimes i like to go on youtube and watch, or re-watch those old videos of people dispatching, and gutting a rabbit. if i was one to do that, i would want to at least have the courage to grab an organ from the bucket that hold them.

i would want the courage to grab a stick and flip over the dead kitten in my neighbors backyard,

or take a closer look at the dead cat in the yard of the house that was for sale.

or maybe ask my parent about the dead bird in my front porch.

but there could also be a possibility im just an edgy tween whos too scared to do any of the shit i said i would want to do.

Could see about researching veterinary autopsies.

TW for graphic description of an animal corpse below.

From my experience, I've never cut open a dead body, but I have handled and buried a dead cat before. She laying down, rigid, and as I tried to lift her, the half on the ground was partially through the decomposition process. Maggots, a stain in the concrete.

The thing about corpses is that they're so, so, very cold. Theres this kind of cold that seeps into your bones. She was in rigor mortis- her muscles firm, but she was so, incredibly cold. Inhumanely cold. You don't quite understand until you feel it for yourself.

I was handling her gloved, of course. Thick rubber dish gloves. I knew she'd fall apart if I tried to lift her with just my hands, so I ended up using a shovel to scoop her up and place her in her grave. She left a pile of maggots in her wake. The top half of a corpse can look undisturbed, but the half touching the ground can be mostly gone.

I'm not one to seek out corpses. This is just my experience. She was a stray cat I'd been caring for for years. She'd passed away from mange/scabies. If you go seeking out random corpses, don't handle them raw and probably wear a mask and some thick gloves. They will very likely harbour diseases- either from their cause of death or from decomposing.

If you truly are interested in the dissection of animals, it wouldn't be a bad skill to learn. Vets need people with a strong stomach and sometimes a curiosity for the morbid. Having an interest rather than an aversion can be a very sought after trait.

It's just morbid curiosity, everyone has that. No shame in it.
