I’m back thoooo 👻
It’s been a long time since I’ve been on here. I made my SpaceHey 3 years ago, hyper focused on it for a few months, and then completely forgot it existed 😅 I’m back thoooo! It’s been a busy few years for certain. I started college! I’ve been a psychology major at my local community college for 2 years now 😵 it’s crazy that this is already my last semester before I graduate with my associates degree in psychology! I’m kind of in a transition period of my life, however. I’m caught between deciding whether to finish off my BA in Psychology or switch majors into BA in Biology with a focus on ecology! I’m interested in both topics for certain, but the idea of studying and possibly working with animals has definitely been calling to me. I could get away with pivoting over with almost no credits wasted, but the job outlook is not as lucrative. I’d have to work in a GIS certificate somehow to make ends meet, and the degree itself would be more challenging. I could make a lot more money pursing an MSW and become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker after graduate school in another 4 years, but that might be more soul draining than I can anticipate. It’s definitely a lot to consider.
For some background the reason I’m even considering the change is because I have a childhood fascination with dinosaurs and paleontology. A biology degree would give me the background to work with my special interest while still giving me the flexibility to pivot to more in demand biology applications to pay the bills. It’s kind of a lot to go after to perhaps still only end up studying fossils as a passion project, so I’m not really sure. I’m transferring to university in the spring, so I’ve been trying to make up my mind, but I’m going in circles about it. I’ll have to make a decision eventually I guess! For now, I’ve been accepted to my local state university and have an offer for a recurring $2K scholarship! All of that is good news at least, and I have sometime to weigh my options while I finish out the semester, thankfully.
