music rant #1

this is probably a nothing burger but i get irked when im told my favorite band is "not rock enough" despite the band being heavily influenced by green day, muse and my chemical romance. the bassist is a huge fan of heavy rock and metal, he has been implementing growls, vocal fries and screams in their live performances.

they have a song called "diamond" that is soooo good and does have those screams! in a radio performance their rhythm guitarist growls in that section. they play instruments live and sing live. so, i wonder, if they are not "rock enough" despite all this, what are they ?
