i never draw anything original,

the words i say have been screamed, whispered, sung before,

the things i do are based off of other people

i do not know who I am

s0nd3r	1757735255 i don't think ANYONE is original. if you think about it, every creation is built off of someones ideas regardless if they are conscious about it or not i think everyone's self is literally comprised of others, maybe that's just the way it is. we're born colorless, and it's the people we meet that give us color. without people, would it be possible to form a self with no inspirations? things are created by joy. but wouldn't something need to influence that joy? if the self is comprised of different parts of people, mixed, i'm sure that is still you despite taking the parts of others and putting it inside of you. like paint, different colors cannot exist without another. for another color to exist, things would have to be mixed to create a new color. now, the color, is particularly different from others despite using individual parts from other colors to build. white and red make pink, but pink is not red and pink is not white. pink is pink. if you take individual parts from someone to make it yourself, you aren't that person. you are yourself. naturally, you'd expect to take only little parts of someone and not everything from them. if you consume every part of who they are and put it into you, you do become someone else. i like to relate this to the ship of thesus. as the ship rots, every individual part is eventually replaced with new parts to keep the ship from falling the part. if every originally piece of the ship has been removed, does it still stay the same because it is still the ship of thesus and because the purpose stays the same, or is it different because every authentic part of it has been replaced? SmogHotdog	1757181203 something u might find helpful is taking a break from modern social media (eg. insta, snap, tiktok. etc) + picking up a new hobby =3 this is what i've been doing lately and ive honestly been a lot happier with myself/have more clarity about who i actually am... i think personal sites/blogging platforms/social platforms where u CHOOSE what u see r best 4 this!! ^_^ (spacehey, neocities, newgrounds, reddit, livejournal, mastodon, possibly discord) There's also often online forums of the things ur in2 if u want something more specific 2 YOU. chances r, if u search [ur interest; a videogame, fandom, etc] and then 'forum' there'll be something with active ppl 2 discuss it. Less specific 1s being: Letterboxd(movies, movie reviews/recommendations), Goodreads(books, book reviews, discussion), itch.io(playable indie games, comics). Report Comment i literally only use spacehey youtube livejournal and SOMETIMES twitter and then whatsapp to text i go on tiktok for like two seconds to do my streaks by sending a nudge thats it i play games sometimes like GTA or lbp since theyre the only thing i can load offline i dont rlly like modern social media anymore it sucks by 🕊 festive XØKADE ; 1757181596; Report i have no hobbies i keep and idk life js sucks all i do is sit in bed all day on spacehey or youtube by 🕊 festive XØKADE ; 1757181631; Report i think 4 the most part the main reason behind less in-ur-face social forums working 4 me is how much i put my feelings, ramblings, interests, etc out there having ur own little internet corner, personal 2 no1 but u or ur online persona - and the process of building this in the 1st place can really help u develop a sense of self =D this doesnt really work 4 modern socials bcz of how critical ppl can be and the lack of customization... if uve got little 2 no clue how 2 code on here or neocities then learning is easy and there's obviously templates and guides. if u have no will 2 learn then even just posting more experimental blogs/bulletins + putting urself out there more can help!! there's also an entirely different approach u could take, which is building an online persona. it sounds contradictory bcuz personas r often separate from urself-- but sometimes separating from urself can help u figure out who u might be and what u wanna be like =)) by SmogHotdog; 1757182378; Report
