blog 3- mans best friend

Hi sorry it took me like a week to make a blog on sabrina carpenter's new album, i've been a busy boy ok.

Besides the insane twitter discourse around this album, which doesn't make any sense to me really, and the insane hatred it got within like 24 hours of it's release, i found myself really enjoying the album.

It is definitely short n sweet's sister album, that is certain in my mind. the instrumentals, the lyrics, the topics, the aesthetics all give me a more tinted version of short n sweet. which is great because short n sweet was one of my favorite albums made last year (shout out to lie to girls, best short n sweet song).

To me, Man's Best Friend just barely outcompetes short n sweet ( i keep wanting to type short n sour or sweet n sour help.) maybe it is just my opinion, but this one sabrina seems much more comfortable with joking and much less concerned about what tommy from arkansas (tm) has to say about her.

Some people think that every song on man's best friend sound exactly the same, which doesn't make sense to me because its meant to. it is a record and records are meant to sound connected and similar because they are a piece of a bigger art piece. now the album cover discourse is an entirely different conversation. sabrina said she chose the cover she did because she felt like it symbolized perfectly how out of control women could feel when it comes to relationships and their sex life, and as a former woman (#trans) i personally relate to that message

now, i cant exactly give the entire album an exact rating, but heres my top five (no specific order, besides go go juice. she aint moving.)
