album of interest: Taking It Back To The Classics by DJ Kid Nice (2014)

hoooooly shit this reminds me of what they'd bump at the roller rink... the iconic samples, the groovy beat, the occasional airhorn noise...... UGH i love it!  i've been rollerskating on and off since i was 7 (that was in 2010!) - so music like this is super nostalgic to me... i haven't skated in like a year (*ﾉ∀`*)

for those who like genre labels, i'd say this album is a blend of hip hop, r&b, and plunderphonics.  this song has a lot of variety; for example, "01 Just The Two Of Us" is an introductory rap with a wacky beat; "05 Heart Beat" is an r&b lusty song; "09 A.M P.M" is an electronic/industrial type beat; and "15 Genius of Love" is literally just a remix of the same song by Tom Tom Club (iconic btw).

even though all of these songs are so different, they transition EXTREMELY well into each other!!!!  i realllyyyy recommend listening to this album in order.  great vibes for the car, if you actually are skating, hosting a birthday party, or if you just want to have fun.  this really is a fun album that i think a lot of you would like, so pleaseee check it out!
