I’m going to be trying this new philosophy. It goes like this:
“That’s that, and this is this.”
It’s essentially a way to close off the past and focus solely on the present/future, which I really need right now.
I feel terrible about some things I could have done and I need a way to let go. What happened was Sebastian got paired up in a welding booth with this kid, who we’ll call KP. KP isn’t a bad guy necessarily, but he’s definitely not a good person. He was using RD, we’ll call her, as a placeholder girlfriend. He broke his Yondr Pouch, uses a vape, and got suspended today for using his phone in class. He broke up with RD today, and the day before I had a chance to warn her. I didn’t have the heart to tell her, and I feel terrible about it.
I know the philosophy is popular because of Project Moon, but it’s a real and functional way to look at life, and I want to try it.
I can’t be whimsical and positive about this anymore.
Edit: I have so many situations I’d rather put behind me, the paragraph is just an example.
